Kilgetty, Begelly Community Council

The villages of Kilgetty and Begelly are situated approximately 5 miles north of Tenby, close to the seaside villages of Saundersfoot, Wiseman's Bridge and Amroth.  They are within half hours drive of the towns of Carmarthen, Haverfordwest, Pembroke and Pembroke Dock or the lovely views of the Presceli Hills.

Kilgetty has a good range of shops, including a supermarket, grocery shop, chemist, newsagent,  curtain specialist, garage, car salesroom, hairdressers and barber.  There is also a fish 'n' chip shop, Chinese take-away, two public house, a cafe and gift shop. Accommodation is available at Manian Lodge, Begelly Arms,  Bed and Breakfast Guest Houses and Caravan sites..

The joint villages are looked after by the Kilgetty, Begelly Community Council and there is also a flourishing Community Association, with an Environmental Group, members of which keep the village flower beds colourful in the summer. They have also opened a Community Garden, which is a pleasant place to sit.

The Community Centre has two halls, which are available for hire for parties, bazaars etc. or for longer terms for classes or clubs. For booking arrangements please contact Mrs Kath Skelton 01834 813331.

The Church of St. Mary, Begelly, is a little gem, nestling in the trees above Kilgetty.  It is often open to visitors on Tuesday afternoons or by arrangement with the Church Wardens.

Kilgetty/Begelly can be reached quite easily from the M4, following the road to Carmarthen and then on the A40 and A477  Tenby road.  It also has a station with trains from London, via Swansea and national coaches stop at the Community Centre.  Local buses run through the village to all local areas.
